Austria’s Carnuntum wine region is one of the oldest in Central Europe.  Winemaker Gerhard Markowitsch discusses the particularities of Carnuntum terroir and its signature Zweigelt grape. In this vineyard interview, he tells Amanda Barnes about the changing attitudes to viticulture in Austria, and a little bit about the ancient gladiators that used to live in the region.
