Harvest 17, Niagara

Niagara is quite a spectacular wine region! The falls completely took our breath away, as did the Chardonnay! In the meantime, here’s a shot of the impressive falls, which – as the caption explains – isn’t quite as tenuous a link as it first appears!

Double tap if you know what this waterfall has to do with wine? 🍷💦The Niagara Falls is a dramatic show of the Niagara escarpment which was formed over millennia by glacial movement. The Niagara wine region has vineyards planted between the top of the bench down to the lake shore, which is the altitude difference you can see from the falls. The reason the Niagara Falls are slowly receding is because of the soft limestone rock underneath, which happens to be great terroir for some of Niagara’s favorite wine varieties 🍇#80harvests #niagarafalls
