A new style of wine in Mendoza: Interview with winemaker Matias Michelini

by Amanda Barnes

Winemaker Matias Michelini was one of the first few winemakers in Argentina to purely focus on the Uco Valley. He is also a rule-breaking winemaker who has pioneered a new style. Ten years ago he started paving the way for a fresher style of Malbec, with higher acidity and lower alcohol – a trend that has now taken hold with many winemakers. We interview him in his organic garden at the Super Uco winery about his wine production in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, the new styles of Argentine wine, and biodynamic farming.

Interview in Spanish, with English subtitles
